Chelsea fans were pretty livid when it was announced last night that Nathaniel Chalobah had been sold to Watford on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old made the decision to snub a new deal with the Blues to join the Hornets to get the opportunity to play more first team football, with the Hertfordshire club snapping up the midfielder on a five-year deal.
For a cut-down price of £5m, the Hornets have managed to get themselves a talented England U21 international, and another of Chelsea’s promising academy products.
With Nathan Ake already heading out to Bournemouth, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ola Aina on loan deals, fans have been left frustrated that the academy players are making their way out of the club.
And Chalobah’s sale has gone down probably the worst of the lot with the Blues’ supporters.
