West Ham United’s latest social media offering may just be sending a message to Liverpool over their reported interest in Argentina international Manuel Lanzini.
With Philippe Coutinho heavily linked with a mega money move to Barcelona to join Ousmane Dembele in replacing Neymar at the Catalan giants, Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on bringing Lanzini to Liverpool as a replacement for the Brazilian.
Perhaps in response to the speculation over a bid, West Ham posted this tweet on their Twitter feed to preview the match at Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon and show how important they see Lanzini’s role at the club to be.
Reports from Lanzini’s native Argentina also claim that Barcelona are considering a move for Lanzini himself.
However, Slaven Bilic has insisted that Lanzini will not leave this summer, doubling down on his promise at a recent press conference.
“I am sure [Lanzini] is going to stay with us,” the Hammers boss explained.
“I said it last week when we spoke out about it before the Manchester United game.
“He broke into the Argentina team, he got a call-up for the game in September so he knows that if he plays for West Ham he has a chance to improve, sign a better contract with West Ham and play for Argentina. He is very happy.”
