football.london understands discussions are taking place with Manchester City for West Ham to sign Joe Hart on loan for the 2017/18 Premier League season.
The England stopper is down the pecking order at the Etihad and spent the last season on loan at Torino. Pep Guardiola has since brought in Ederson from Benfica this summer to be City’s number one for the next season, with Claudio Bravo also staying put as the number two.
The Hammers have been linked with Hart for a while this summer but it seemed that with City only wanting a permanent switch for around £20m, any deal was off.
But we have learned that City are now willing to allow Hart to leave on loan for the season and that has alerted the Hammers again, who are now involved in discussions over making a move for Hart.
His arrival would likely spell the end of the road at the club for Darren Randolph or Adrian, with both players vying for the number one spot having had indifferent campaigns last time out.
football.london understands that there will be an option for the Hammers to purchase Hart at the end of the loan deal and during his temporary stay, City will be paying the majority of his £110,000 a week wages.
