Former Hammer Havard Nordtveit has taken a swipe at the Premier League following his move to Hoffenheim last month.
The Norwegian only lasted one year at West Ham after agreeing a five-year deal with the Bundesliga club for a fee believed to be £8million.
The 27-year-old didn’t settle to life in England last season and he only made 16 appearances for the club in a disappointing campaign.
However, now that he is back in Germany after one season away, the versatile player stated that the Bundesliga is better, as well as criticising the atmosphere in the Premier League.
Nordtveit, speaking to Kicker in Germany, said: “The Premier League is very big in Scandinavia and I always wanted to play there, but now I’ve tried it, but I find the atmosphere in the Bundesliga better.
“I’ve tried it in the Premier League, but if you play Bundesliga, you can play Bundesliga.”
