The 25-year-old has been subject of a number of bids from the Hammers over the past few weeks, yet the clubs have been unable to agree on a fee for the highly-rated player.
Although it was reported last week that the club had pulled out of a deal for the Portuguese international, reports from the player’s home country suggests the club will finally agree on a deal for the Euro 2016 winner.
According to Correio da Manha, the club are now ‘open’ to meeting Sporting’s demands, despite previously refusing to pay the asking price.
The publication reports that the clubs are only €3million apart, with West Ham only offering €35million so far.
However, despite the reports from Correio da Manha, rival publication A Bola believe the Hammers still won’t meet Sporting’s demands with their final offer.
The newspaper claims that will make a new bid but they won’t offer the €38million needed to see Carvalho move to London.
Given all the twists and turns in this transfer saga so far, expect there to be a few more prior to the deadline.
