West Ham are searching for their first win of the season as they play at home for the first time, Huddersfield Town are the visitors to E20 under the lights in the capital.
Carroll hasn’t started a match since the 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last season and after a month of training with the first team, is now ready to return.
Caroll is one of five changes for the Hammers as he, Pedro Obiang, Winston Reid, Cheikhou Kouyate and Jose Fonte all start. Mark Noble, Andre Ayew, Edimilson Fernandes, Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna miss out.
Bilic, speaking to Sky Sports, said: “Well you know Andy [Carroll], he always has a big impact whenever he’s on the pitch – whether he starts or comes on.
“He’s fit, he’s been training with us for four weeks, which is enough for him.
“He looks sharp, he looks good in training. We didn’t want to push him before, against Newcastle we wanted to wait to make sure that he’s fitter and fitter.
“There was an international break after the Newcastle game and he trained again these couple of weeks and as I said he looks fit.
“It’s a big boost for us, it’s good to have him on the pitch. We know what he can bring and what he always brings on the pitch.
“But it’s about the team, it’s not only about Andy Carroll. But yes it’s a big boost for us, of course it is.”
