Conte said Alvaro Morata should be pleased with his performance in the 3-2 defeat against Bayern Munich.
“It’s not easy to speak about the impact of Alvaro because he’s only been with us two days and he needs to work and find his feet, and understand our idea of football, but for sure he showed a great will and for us he’s a great buy.
“We need to give him the right time to adapt to our way of football but he must be pleased with his performance.”
The defender is confident that Cesc Fabregas will have a big impact on the team next season.
“We expect a big season from all of us. Obviously Cesc is a very good player with very good experience and he has given a lot in the team, but what I expect as a team is all of us to keep improving and to reach the targets that we are looking for.”
Conte broke his silence over the decision to send Kenedy home from the club’s pre-season tour of Asia
“Unfortunately, it happened this situation. Because we all know it is a pity. The player was sorry about this situation. It is a difficult situation, also for the club. For this reason we make this decision for the player.
“The player understood his mistake, he is sorry for what happened. Now he must go home.”
“If he has the opportunity to go to Chelsea, then they are the stronger of the two, so I think he should go there.
“He would suit playing three at the back as well. It’s disappointing the way things have worked out for him over the summer and he is being forced to train alone, but over the next couple of weeks [you’d think] he will get his move.”
The Brighton manager spoke after the club signed Izzy Brown on loan.
“The natural progression for Izzy, having enjoyed such a successful season in the Championship last season, was to step up to the Premier League – and we are delighted he will be doing that with us, here at Brighton.
“He is a player with great potential and will bring a different dimension to our attacking options for the season ahead, alongside our existing strikers.”
