Silva will be forced to make at least one change to the side that started last weekend with Lazar Markovic ruled out with an ankle injury, and could call on the services of Omar Elabdellaoui after he made a return to full training following a back problem, although the Head Coach admits that might be a risk after almost two months out of action.
“Omar has worked hard every day and is a player who doesn’t need too much time to win back his fitness,” said Silva.
“But he has missed seven games and six weeks of training, and maybe that is too much to come back into a game with this intensity. We have two more training sessions so we will see what my decision is.
“For me the biggest decisions aren’t always about individual players, it is about what you want from the match.”
As well as Markovic, Silva remains without David Meyler, Ryan Mason, Moses Odubajo and Will Keane.
Crystal Palace will be without defenders Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho on Sunday, while late decisions will be made on the fitness of James Tomkins and Yohan Cabaye. Manager Sam Allardyce also has concerns over Joel Ward and Andros Townsend.
