Borussia Dortmund could arrive for tonight’s (Wednesday’s) Champions League clash with Spurs missing no less than NINE first team players as the German side are engulfed in an injury crisis.
Neven Subotic is the latest Dortmund player to miss training as he was reportedly ill and missed training and is struggling to make the game at Wembley – but he is just the start for the Germans.
Captain Marcel Schmelzer ruptured ankle ligaments in the Bundesliga clash with Freiburg on Saturday, while fellow defender Marc Batra was also subbed off with a groin injury and neither have travelled to the capital.
Julian Weigl (ankle), Andre Schurrle (thigh), Sebastian Rode (knock) and Erik Durm (hip) are doubts, while Raphael Guerreiro and Marco Reus are both recovering from off-season surgeries.
Dortmund boss Peter Bosz said of his injury problems: “Our long-term injuries are well-known and we have some short-term ones as well.
“Subotic is sick. Maybe he will come tomorrow (Tuesday) but he is not with the group today.”
