Silva and his players head to Merseyside this weekend looking to register what would be a first win at Goodison Park since a Viggo Jensen brace secured a 2-0 success back in August 1952.
That result remains the Tigers’ only ever away win against the Blues in seven attempts, although Silva was quick to stress his focus is only on the present.
“For me, it’s not important,” he said. “It’s new to me – the only thing that is important right now is what we do on Saturday, not what has happened in the past between the two teams.
“Sometimes it is good to know about the past, but nothing that has happened in previous games against Everton will change what we look to do at the weekend.
“Saturday is a new story for us against Everton and we will look to do our best work in order try and pick up some points to help us achieve our goal of staying in the Premier League.”
