Santi Cazorla has sent out a message to Arsenal fans that he is doing everything he can to return to action this season.
The Gunners midfielder has not played since October due to an Achilles problem which has forced him to undergo a staggering eight operations.
He is still some way off a return – with the 32-year-old having suggested November as a possible return date.
But Cazorla wants everyone to know that he is working as hard as possible to get himself back to full fitness so he can help Arsene Wenger’s side during the second half of the season.
Uploading a video of himself working out in the gym, the Spaniard posted a message saying: “Working working pushing pushing!! Onestepcloser!”
Cazorla last gave an interview in July talking about his injury situation and hinted that he believed he had finally turned the corner.
“I am fine but I do not want to set a return date because if I can’t fulfil it would be a big blow,” he said. “
“I only think about the day to day I really want to play again and I will work to get back as soon as possible.
“The problem was that [doctors] did not know what’s going on.
“But I went to Spain, they found a bacteria infection, and now it seems that problem is already solved.
“It looks like the operations are over. Now I’m very happy, starting the recovery that is was what I wanted.”
