Fernando Llorente is targeting silverware after joining the club
“I’m very happy to join Tottenham, an amazing Club and I can only say I come here to help Tottenham try to win titles.
“I think they are working really well in the last few years, I like Mauricio Pochettino, his mentality, his thoughts about Tottenham and I think the project and the philosophy of this Club is amazing.
“I’m very excited to come here. I think Harry Kane is an amazing striker and I’m very happy to play with him and the other players. I want to get to know them and start to train with my new team-mates.
“I’m 32-years-old but I want to learn every day and I think I can learn a lot of things from Harry and the other players. I can learn a lot from Mauricio Pochettino and I will do my best here.
“I think I can do more things in my career and my dream is to do that here at Tottenham.”
Le Parisien journalist Julien Laurens believes Serge Aurier has all the attributes to be a hit at Spurs
“PSG certainly play with a lot of the ball and a lot of movement from the full-backs.
“They maybe play more possession football than Spurs at times but it’s not going to be a big change for him because he’s going to be asked to do the same sort of things – attacking the space, overlapping, crossing the ball and bringing more numbers going forward.
“He might need a bit of adaptation to the league, to his new team-mates and his new manager like any new signing but I think he’s got all the qualities and he’s perfectly suited to the way that Spurs play.”
Paul Merson commented on Spurs’ transfer business over the summer
“It was a hard summer for Tottenham because they’ve got their first team settled and they were looking for squad players.
“Yes, they let Kyle Walker leave but I’d be dropping him off at the gates of Man City for 50 million quid!
“I look at Serge Aurier and some of the stories that surround him and you wonder what will happen with him.
“Then they spent £38m on Davinson Sanchez, who is a player they didn’t really need and is just happy to be there.
“Fernando Llorente is good back-up to Harry Kane and will come on when they are chasing games.
“It’s been hard for Spurs in this market and people need to understand that.”
Charlie Adam is confident Ross Barkley will sign for Spurs
“In order to go and fulfil his potential, I think Pochettino will be the best for him.
“Tactically he will improve him as a player at Tottenham.
“He’s got the ability, but tactically is he aware of other things?
“As a midfielder, you can make runs off him. Does he want to do the tracking?
“He might feel Spurs might be the right answer and Pochettino could be the right coach.”
Gary Neville believes Barkley turned down a move to Chelsea because Spurs proposed a January move
“Ross is a homebird.
“I don’t know the ins-and-outs of it at this moment in time.
“He might have got down there and thought ‘hang on a minute, I love Everton’.
“Or it may be another club that he wanted to go to more has told him to hang on for five months and they’ll sign him in January.
“Maybe Tottenham or someone else. They may have put some doubt in his mind.
“It’s a strange one. Once you go for a medical, it’s very unusual you’ll change your mind from there.
“I can’t imagine the physio or sports scientist has put him off.”
