Jurgen Klopp gave an insight into problems Liverpool had against Arsenal’s opening-day opponents Leicester
“It’s been two hard games against difficult opponents so to win both games is a big thing.
“We don’t need to make it smaller than it is.
“Everything was working as we wanted. Yes, we conceded a goal but the line-up was my idea. It was clear that not everything in defence would work with these boys together. It had big offensive potential.
“We scored two wonderful goals and then in the second half after the changes we were a bit wild going for the third goal and gave Leicester some opportunities on the counter attack. Yes, we want to create more chances but no risky passes.”
Laurent Koscielny confirmed his intention to stay at Arsenal and his gratitude to Arsene Wenger
“When I first got here, I didn’t think about how long I would stay at this club – but now I am starting my eighth season.
“Arsene Wenger is a big [inspiration] for me. He bought me from France, has given me everything to help me play for Arsenal, and has helped me as a man too.
“I have a big [loyalty] to this club and to the boss too. I am happy to be here with him and to fight for him because he is a great person.”
Hector Bellerin appeared to quash rumours of a move to Barcelona
“Going back to London like…” Bellerin joked on Instagram alongside a picture of the Spaniard paddle boarding.
And Tony Pulis ruled out a move for Kieran Gibbs as the Arsenal defender’s future took a twist
“We won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs.
“We have to look for players that fit what we want to do and the way we want to play.
“We have three or four other targets we are desperate for. We are juggling with two at the moment and that’s not Gibbs.”
