Christian Eriksen reflects on a convincing win over Everton
“It was a tough game in the beginning but then Harry crossed the ball and it went in!” Eriksen said to the Tottenham Hotspur site.
“We then got the confidence and the possibility to play our football.
“I thought we played a strong game, we didn’t give them much and we had our chances.
“Toby and I spoke before the game and we’ve had difficult games here at Everton, but we showed we’ve moved on, we’re a step further.
“Of course, they have a lot of new signings and they have to get used to everything but we showed we have the character and we know how to play football.”
Michael Owen says Harry Kane is a better finisher than Romelu Lukaku
“It’s one of those that people look at and think it’s a normal goal,” Owen said on BT Sport. “Well, try doing it. Lukaku tried it and hit it over the bar.
“We were discussing about Rashford and Lukaku who were debating who was the best finisher (at United).
“Lukaku is a decent finisher but I’d still say, even if he ends up with the golden boot, that there are better finishers in the Premier League than Lukaku and Kane is one of them.”
Ben Davies impressed by Davinson Sanchez’s display at Goodison Park
“He must think this league is easy! No, I thought he was great,” Davies told the club website.
“He’s a proper centre-half, a player who will win headers, win challenges and we looked very solid at the back all-round, we didn’t give away too many chances and the quality we had on the ball when the defenders won it was great.
“He’s a top player, big, strong and he was in there when the ball came in long.”
Anton Walkes is pleased with his decision to move to MLS side Atlanta United on loan
“I think it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made so far,” Walkes told PA Sport.
“I’ve enjoyed every single moment, I’ve learned so much, so I am looking forward to the next stages.
“My expectations were high and what it has proved is just that it’s raised the bar even higher than I expected.”
