The Hammers were in discussion with Manchester City over a season-long loan and were confident a deal could be done but we have learned a bid from an unnamed club has scuppered any deal for the England keeper.
Our sources tell us there is now just a 10% chance of any move to bring Hart to the London Stadium happening despite reports claiming that West Ham were closing in on a deal.
News emerged earlier this afternoon that West Ham had re-ignited interest in the keeper after City were willing to loan him out rather than want just a permanent switch of around £20m.
City would have subsidised the majority of Hart’s wages had he moved to E20, with a permanent buy option at the end of the 2017/18 season.
But that dream appears to have died as quickly as it was born, with the Hammers set to miss out again this summer.
