If getting back to winning ways in the Premier League wasn’t good enough, Arsenal fans had an extra reason to be cheerful over the weekend.
Former hero Tomas Rosicky was back on the scoresheet yesterday for Sparta Prague, scoring on his first start for his boyhood club after 17 years.
The 36-year-old has had some wretched luck with injuries over the past decade, but there’s no doubt that all Arsenal fans will have been left smiling after his goal for Sparta.
It was some goal as well.
Rosicky, who started the move for the hosts outside the area, timed his run into the box to perfection as he hit the ball into the roof of the net beyond the MFK Karvina goalkeeper.
The Czech was clearly delighted with his goal and all his teammates ran over to celebrate with the former Borussia Dortmund player.
After injury limited him to only one game last campaign, Rosicky, as well as the Arsenal fans, will be praying luck is on his side this time around.
Following his goal in the 2-0 win, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to hail their former man.
