West Ham are reportedly set to continue their summer spending by bringing in another new signing on Monday.
According to Martin del Palacio, a Spanish-based journalist, the Hammers will sign another Mexican player to join Javier Hernandez at the London Stadium.
The news has left the club’s supporters excited over another new arrival after Del Palacio revealed the news to his followers on Twitter last night.
The journalist tweeted: “As it turns out that Chicharito will not be the only Mexican to reach West Ham. On Monday they will hear of another, exclusively.”
Tigres UANL winger Jurgen Damm has been linked with a move to the club in the summer, while Benfica striker Raul Jimenez is also reportedly a target of Slaven Bilic.
Jimenez, who has been linked with numerous clubs so far this summer, is aware of the interest in his services.
The 26-year-old, speaking to Record in Portugal, said: “I have seen on social networks that there is interest from several teams, but I leave it to my representative and my father.
“Now I am focused on the holidays and then I have to return to Benfica on the 22nd.
“If any change happens, let it be for the better.”
However, it seems Damm would be the likelier option given his links with Eduardo Hernandez, the agent of Chicharito.
The winger was on trial at Manchester United in 2013 on the recommendation of the agent, although the move never materialised.
The Hammers would have to strike a deal with Tigres for the winger, yet that could be made easier by the fact the club sold Enner Valencia to the Mexican side just over a week ago.
