Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin met Arsene Wenger twice last week to ask for a transfer to his former club Barcelona, according to reports from Spain.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim that the right-back has his heart set on a move back to Barca but Wenger will not allow him to depart.
Bellerin is believed to have contacted his manager after the European U21 Championship finished to set up a meeting to discuss his future at the club.
The pair met on Monday and the 22-year-old thanked the Frenchman for what he had done for him, before telling Wenger that he wishes to return to the Spanish giants.
Despite asking to depart the Gunners, Bellerin was told quite clearly by Wenger that he does not want to sell him as he is a major part of his plans for the club.
The daily sports newspaper then claim that the defender met with Wenger once again a few days later to ask to be allowed to move to Barcelona.
Wenger, just like in the first meeting, told his right-back that he would not be sold.
Barcelona are believed to be aware of Bellerin’s meetings with his manager and are said to be plotting a cut-price bid for the talented player next week.
Although Arsenal aren’t prepared to sell Bellerin, Spanish newspaper Sport suggest that Barca will open the bidding at around €30million.
