Tottenham capped off their pre-season matches with a 2-0 win over Juventus at Wembley on Saturday, making it two wins out of four summer matches.
However, it wasn’t the results that concerns Kane.
The striker knows that pre-season is all about fitness – and the England international hopes that a tough month of training will stand Tottenham in good stead for the coming campaign.
He told the official Spurs website: “When you start pre-season you can’t wait for the season to start.
“We’ve had a tough month and now we’re looking forward to it all getting started. We played well against Juventus and the feeling is good going into that first game.
“Pre-season is all about fitness. That was the last game before the start of the season so it was good to get 80 minutes under my belt personally, now we have another full week of training.
“We’ll work hard ahead of Newcastle.”
