Hernandez made his Hull City debut against the Hammers back in September 2014 and marked the occasion with the opening goal in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
A further 29 goals have followed in black and amber for the Uruguayan striker, but that first goal against West Ham is one that he will always remember.
“It was a lovely moment. I remember that I had only been in this country for two days and the manager put me straight into the team,” said Hernandez.
“It was a dream debut because I scored, but it was a shame that we didn’t win the match and get three points.
“It is a game that I will always remember. I couldn’t really understand anything that my team-mates were saying to me, so it was quite a unique experience!”
Hernandez will hope to be on target against West Ham again at the weekend. Tickets for Saturday’s game remain on sale – click here to buy online.
