Slaven Bilic has said he will be taking a strong squad down to Cheltenham Town for their Carabao Cup second round tie at the LCI Rai Stadium this evening (Wednesday) but it still give him a chance to rotate.
The majority of players who featured in the opening two games will get the chance to rest, especially those who played in the energy-sapping 3-2 reverse at Southampton on Saturday.
The likes of Javier Hernandez, Mark Noble, Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart will get a night off from action – unless they are drastically needed – but it’s highly unlikely.
Adrian also replaces Hart in goal for his first game of the season and the same goes for Sam Byram, who replaces Zabaleta. Diafra Sakho also continues his comeback from injury by leading the line with Andre Ayew – in need of some form – getting a run out as well.
