At Boro, we pride ourselves on our strong links with the Teesside community and that was further emphasised last season with over 300 player and management appearances at events across the region.
From Riverside Stadium tours, to visits to hospitals and school events, Boro were ever-present in the local community.
Among the events, Ben Gibson visited a couple of Redcar youngsters who had their back garden transformed into a safer playing area, while Adam Forshaw was on hand to help with a community mural unveiling at a sheltered housing complex in Hurworth.
Marten de Roon and Viktor Fischer signed up as MFC Foundation ambassadors, Victor Valdes stopped by the Riverside for a special foreign languages afternoon with some lucky school children, while Jordan Rhodes presented achievement awards at St Patrick’s School in Thornaby.
The Boro squad were out in numbers once again at hospitals and children’s homes on Teesside all over Teesside at Christmas time, with North Tees and James Cook hospitals and Zoe’s Place being paid a visit.
Alvaro Negredo and his Boro teammates also helped give a group of disabled youngsters an afternoon they will never forget when the Soccability team stopped by Rockliffe Park.
