How will you feel going back to Manchester United in a West Ham shirt?
“Happy. Very glad, it’s the best way to come back to the Premier League and the country that gave you your first chance in Europe. It is the best way to start the Premier League but we need a good result.
“The main goal and thing for everybody here is to go there and get a good rand important result.
How is your match fitness? Are you ready to start?
“I feel am 100 per cent fit and ready, I have been training well with the lads. It’s the mangers decision though. The only thing I can say is that I am ready and I will be very happy and ready to start.
Are you coming back a better striker than when you left?
“I don’t know. I can’t say if I am the best striker in the world or the worst striker in the world. It is something I need to prove on the pitch. That’s the way I like to speak, on the pitch, I will try to show if I am better.
“In May, we can see how my season went and then we can answer that question.
“I want to put on the pitch the ideas the manager has for everybody and deliver the confidence that he has shown in me.”
Will you celebrate if you score at Old Trafford?
“It is my old club, my old fans, my old stadium so maybe I cannot, I don’t know. But then, it will be my first goal for West Ham with my new fans In this type of game I am not going to think about that just now.
I”f I have the chance to start, have some minutes, I will simply do as well as I can. I would love to score and help my team get a good result. We’ll see.
Jose Mourinho said you’d score 20 goals in his team, what’s your reaction?
“My mind is completely at West Ham. I am of course grateful but right now I am a Hammer, a West Ham player and I want to do even better than I did in Manchester.
What do you think the goal is for West Ham this season?
“The European spots. Definitely, no question.
Have you spoken to Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of your return?
“No. No I haven’t. I don’t know if he will speak to me. Hopefully I can see him if he goes to the game though.
Joe Hart – how has he been in training?
“Very good. He is a very good keeper, I heard about him a lot. He is great lad, very professional and always gives 100 per cent. I have been almost two weeks training with him and I can tell you that.
“He was won the Premier League, played in the Champions League, it is no coincidence that he has been a big player in football in this country.
Do you have any regrets leaving United?
“No, never. Those experiences were something I learned from and gives you things to look forward to in the future.”
