Ahead of the club’s upcoming home match with Manchester United on Sunday March 19, Newcastle International Airport – Boro’s latest partnership signing – has teamed up with Ryanair to offer two lucky fans the chance of winning two tickets to the game against Jose Mourinho’s side as well as two return flights to Madrid*.
With over 80 direct destinations and connections across the globe via its hub connections, the airport, located less than an hour’s drive from The Riverside, is working closely with the club to highlight its latest developments across the Tees Valley and will look to benefit the local community with tickets and flight giveaways throughout the season.
Ryanair, which now serves 12 city and sun destinations from Newcastle, will start flying to the Spanish capital from Monday 27th March, with fares starting from just £16.99.
John Irving, Business Development Director at Newcastle International Airport, said: “We are excited to be working with Middlesbrough Football Club as we believe this partnership will help the airport deliver important messages, but will also help to promote the region on an international front.
“Tees Valley is a crucial part of the North-East economy and as Newcastle Airport acts as the international gateway for the whole region, we hope to use our partnership with Boro to help showcase our offering and how the airport can help facilitate the needs of both the business and leisure community.
“We are delighted Ryanair have added Madrid as its latest addition to our route network. Madrid is a fabulous city but one which is not only a great place to visit, we also hope this will help boost the region’s business and trade links.”
Robin Kiely, Head of Communications at Ryanair, said:
“We’re pleased to add even more new routes from Newcastle Airport this summer, with our services to Faro, Girona and Palma all commencing this month, as well as flights to Madrid, which we’re sure will be popular with both business and leisure customers.
“With fares starting from just £16.99 and 12 routes to choose from, Newcastle Airport and Ryanair will be top of the league for choice and value this season.”
One winner will be chosen from Facebook and Twitter. The competition will close at 12pm on Thursday March 16 2017. The winners will be contacted directly.
