The Blues travel to Spain looking to continue their strong start to their Champions League campaign – having secured a brilliant 6-0 win over Qarabag two weeks ago.
However, Antonio Conte’s side are sure to face a tough test against the La Liga side – with Lampard particularly wary of one of their many star players.
French international Griezmann is widely regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe, and the former Blues midfielder has explained exactly why he poses such a threat to Chelsea.
“The player Chelsea have to particularly watch out for tomorrow is Antoine Griezmann. I really like him, he’s such an intelligent player,” Lampard told the London Evening Standard.
“Griezmann is not a typical striker as such but still scores a lot of goals. He plays as a false No9 if anything. That makes him hard to pick up.
“Every pass is the right pass and he always chooses the tight option. No wonder so many big clubs are prepared to pay silly money for him.”
