Carolos Bacca – West Ham fans certainly remember his name – is reportedly in talks with Marseille over a summer move.
The Colombian striker was heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium last summer as the Hammers and AC Milan agreed a £30m transfer fee but personal terms between the club and Bacca could not be agreed.
The Hammers tried more than twice to convince Bacca to come to east London but he ended staying put in Italy and didn’t have the best of seasons last time out as he fell out of favour.
Now Marseille – home of former Hammer Dimitri Payet – are ready to rescue him, with a number of reports stating the two parties have entered discussions and that could help out West Ham in their chase for Olivier Giroud.
Marseille are one of the teams keen on taking the Frenchman of Arsenal’s hands, along with West Ham and Everton but if they finalise a move for Bacca, Marseille wont pursue any deal for Giroud, leaving the Hammers and Everton to duke it out over his signature.
