Diego Costa has given another major hint that he will not play for Chelsea again after changing his Instagram profile picture.
The Spain striker has removed a photo of himself in a Chelsea shirt and replaced it with a picture of a football.
However, the 28-year-old has yet to do the same on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
On both accounts Costa’s profile picture is still a photo of him in a Blues’ shirt, while his header photo shows him celebrating a goal for the Premier League champions.
The Chelsea team were back at their training base at Cobham today as preparations ahead of the new league season got under way.
Costa, as expected, was not present and his Instagram story suggests that he is still on holiday as his teammates started training.
The striker has been excused from the club’s pre-season training while the Blues and Atletico Madrid try to agree on a deal for the striker.
Costa has not gone AWOL or refused to return to training, but he and the club feel it is better for him to spend time away while talks with Atletico continue.
Costa has his heart set on a return to the Spanish capital and he will be hopeful that both parties can finally agree on a deal this week.
Given that he has changed his Instagram picture, don’t be surprised if Costa changes his Twitter and Facebook profiles in the coming days.
