Dele Alli was straight on social media after England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia tonight to claim that he stuck up his middle finger towards former Spurs teammate Kyle Walker.
The 21-year-old was caught on camera apparently swearing in the direction of referee Clément Turpin, however England boss Gareth Southgate gave a different reason for the swearing and who it could have been for.
“Dele and Kyle Walker were messing about and Dele made a gesture towards Kyle,” Southgate said. “They have strange way of communicating.”
Alli took to Twitter and Instagram straight after the game and stated the same story as the England manager.
However, the Tottenham man could be in trouble if FIFA don’t accept his version of events and there could be a potential ban in place if the referee’s report suggests that it was in the direction of the official.
