Chelsea target Sergio Aguero has flown out with the Manchester City squad to the US as they embark on their pre-season tour.
Aguero was spotted at Manchester Airport with his teammates ahead of their flight this morning, with City due to face rivals Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham before returning home for a final friendly against West Ham United.
Reports surfaced today of Chelsea’s interest in Aguero, with the City striker understood to be under consideration by the Blues despite ongoing interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
City remain undeterred by Chelsea’s interest, with Aguero not believed to be actively pushing for a transfer this summer from the Etihad.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Aguero amid City’s interest in a move for Alexis Sanchez, but the Gunners remain loathe to allow the Chilean to move to City, which would surely impact on any chance Chelsea have of a transfer.
Aguero is not minded to leave City but the purchase of Gabriel Jesus and pursuit of Sanchez suggest Pep Guardiola is building for the future and if he were to land the Chilean, his stance on the Argentinian could yet be altered.
Chelsea’s need for a striker has increased in the wake of Diego Costa’s Atletico Madrid shirt-wearing antics while away from the club, which have confirmed the Spaniard’s desire to leave Stamford Bridge and return to the La Liga side.
But the Blues are also eyeing Aubameyang and may have more success in pursuing the Borussia Dortmund striker after manager Peter Bosz conceded he cannot make any guarantees over the Gabonese international’s future.
“There is speculation about it and there will be until the end of August, it is clear,” he said.
“For me, what matters is that he is here and that he is fit. He is an incredible player, and as a coach I want him to stay, but honestly, I can not say it.
“We talk to him every day, I talk to Michael Zorc every day, but everything can happen and go quickly in football.
