The Blues are heightening security measures ahead of the Premier League match to ensure safety for all supporters and they put a statement on their website to warn fans to make extra time to get into the stadium.
The statement read: “The safety of all fans and visitors to Stamford Bridge is of paramount importance to the club. Following Friday morning’s incident at Parsons Green, and in order to help us fully prepare for the game, the majority of the Stamford Bridge site will remain closed until Sunday morning. This includes Stadium Tours, the Museum, Megastore and the Chelsea Health Club & Spa, while the ticket office will be operating via telephone and online only.
“During that time, entrance to the site will be via the Stamford Gate entrance only.
“On Sunday, we urge supporters to arrive at least one hour before kick-off to allow for extra security measures. We also request that supporters do not bring bags as this will delay your entry to the stadium.
“The club continues to monitor events and liaise with the police and relevant authorities on supporter safety. Any further updates will appear here and on the club’s official Twitter account.
“Please check via TFL and National Rail to ensure you have plenty of time to arrive at the stadium.
“Please remain vigilant and if you see anything you are unhappy with, we encourage you to report it to a steward or any member of staff as quickly as possible.
“Our safety procedures are in place for the benefit of all and we ask you to show patience and support.”
Conte echoed the sentiment that the game has to go ahead, and that people should not let incidents like Parsons Green effect how they live their lives.
“For sure this is a difficult situation and an incident is very dangerous and your mind goes on the situation,” Conte said.
“We have to try to think only to play the game. This is the best way. I remember when I was a coach of the national team and the terrorist attack.
“We stayed with the national team and we had to play against Belgium. In this case it is important to continue. For sure there is a great disappointment for this, and a lot of time it is very difficult to understand why. We have to continue to show that we are stronger than them.”
