Chelsea fans though there was some hope to see Diego Costa in a Chelsea shirt once again after being included in their Premier League squad list for the first half of season.
The 28-year-old was unexpectedly added to the 25-man list after the striker was unable to get his move to Atletico Madrid pushed through on transfer deadline day.
However, The Telegraph are reporting that the Spanish international is expected to continue his exile in Brazil despite the club wanting him back in London and training with the Premier League champions.
Costa is looking to stay in his country of birth, which will prolong his feud with the Blues, meaning that no doubt he will continue to be fined by the club.
A move to Atletico, despite the fact he would have been unable to play for the La Liga side until January de to their transfer ban, had looked likely but the clubs were unable to come to an agreement.
Costa is unlikely to be named in the Champions League squad, however if he returns to the Blues training then he could look to force his way into Antonio Conte’s plans.
