The future of Costa has been thrown into doubt after he revealed last week that he no longer figures in the future plans of Blues boss Antonio Conte and is likely to head for the exit door this summer.
Chelsea have yet to respond to Costa’s comments, but already there is talk of a return to Atletico Madrid, while AC Milan are also reported to be showing an interest .
Speaking after Spain’s 2-1 win over Macedonia on Sunday in which he scored the winning goal, Costa gave an update on his future, saying it is not down to him, but Chelsea to make a decision.
“I have two years left on my contract at Chelsea so they have to know what to do with me,” he told TVE after the win. “I now have to wait for the club’s decision.”
Clubs in China are also keen, but Chelsea will only be interested in a straight cash deal so they can use the money to fund a deal for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
