The Spanish giants are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper and have drawn up a two-man wish-list featuring Courtois and Manchester United’s David de Gea.
Having now wrapped up the Premier League title, Chelsea have begun work on keeping their star players and are starting with Courtois in order to prevent a summer of speculation surrounding their No.1
The 25-year-old’s current contract runs until 2019 and is said to be worth £100,000-per-week.
The Belgium international would likely be given a significant pay rise were he to move to Real Madrid, and Chelsea are therefore ready to offer him a long-term deal worth in excess of £150,000-per-week to keep him at Stamford Bridge, according to the Telegraph.
Courtois is not the only Blues ace wanted by Real with Eden Hazard also said to be on their radar and the newly-crowned champions are likely to open contract talks with the playmaker as well once the season is over.
