Defoe’s warm send-off
Obviously, given his Spurs connections, Jermaine Defoe is not the most popular player when he visits Arsenal.
And when he was substituted midway through the second half, the inevitable boos rang around the ground when his name was first read out over the stadium PA.
But as Defoe got closer to the touchline it was noticeable, certainly to those sitting in and around the press box, that the striker was being met by lots of applause from Arsenal fans on that side of the ground.
Some even went as far as to get to their feet as he slowly made his way over to take his seat on the bench.
Exactly why he felt the warmth of the home support is unclear, but you have to think it is because of what he did for young Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery during the last few months of his tragic cancer battle.
Lowery touched the nation with his bravery, as did Defoe by the way he dedicated so much of his time to the youngster from the north east.
Sanchez’s solemn exit
It’s always tough to read exactly what Alexis Sanchez is thinking as the Chile international can often look frustrated even when things are going well.
But the Chile international certainly didn’t look happy at the full-time whistle following his short cameo after the interval.
When he made his way onto the pitch boos (and a fair few expletives) could clearly be heard from around the Emirates, as some disgruntled fans made their point to the Chile international.
Were those boos still on his mind as he headed towards the tunnel at the end of the game? He certainly looked far from happy.
Coquelin’s incredible dive
You never want to laugh at an injury – but Francis Coquelin flinging himself through the air after hurting his hamstring was quite the sight.
The French midfielder was chasing back looking to win possession when all of a sudden he went flying towards the turf in spectacular fashion.
Coquelin now faces a few weeks on the sidelines, but at least he will be able to entertain himself by watching several of the hilarious clips doing the rounds on social media of his magnificent dive.
