Jurgen Klopp benched the Croatia international, claiming the defender wasn’t 100 per cent after a tough international break, much to the dismay of pundit Carragher.
“I still go back to the decision at the start of the game,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“I know Lovren wasn’t 100 per cent the manager said before the game.
“But as a centre-back you have to be playing 40-50 games a season.
“You might be 100 per cent for half of them, you’ve just got to go out there and play.
“I still don’t agree with that decision at the start but Liverpool were poor second half.”
