Robert Snodgrass has found it difficult to convince West Ham fans of his worth ever since arriving at the London Stadium in January.
His arrival from Hull City came off the back of Dimitri Payet’s departure to Marseille and some unfair comparisons were made about the Scot as a result.
But having failed to score in 15 appearances since the £10m deal, Hammers have frequently shown their frustration with the 29-year-old – and that theme continued during the pre-season friendly match against Sturm Graz II as West Ham kicked off their tour of Austria with a 0-0 draw.
Snodgrass played for the opening 45 minutes before Slaven Bilic changed his entire XI and his performance generated plenty of discussion on social media amongst supporters.
Several urged the club to allow the Scot to move on this summer as he struggled to prove the fans were hasty in their judgements on him.
Snodgrass operated from the right, his favoured position, in front of new signing Pablo Zabaleta but it wasn’t until star man Manuel Lanzini emerged for the second half that West Ham experienced any sort of creative threat.
Here’s a round-up of fans’ views on the winger from this evening’s pre-season friendly.
