The 20-year-old began the campaign looking for a season of progression with the Club’s Development Squad. He ended it having made nine appearances for the senior side and he is keen to build on that when 2017/18 comes around.
“At the start of the season I went away with the first team squad for pre-season and that was something I would have taken 12 months ago with nothing else,” said Bowen, who plays as an attacking midfielder, winger or forward.
“I managed to score in a couple of the friendly games and stayed involved with the matchday squads when the season started.
“Going on to play seven times in the Premier League and a couple of times in the cup competitions has made it a good year for me, but unfortunately for the team it hasn’t been a very good one and sadly we will be in the Championship next year.
“For me, I just want to have another good pre-season and see what happens from there. I’ll be patient like I have been all the way through this season.
“I’ll aim to hit the ground running and if and when my chance comes, I’ll aim to take it.”
