Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says he expects N’Golo Kante to continue to improve in the coming years.
The French midfielder joined the Blues in the summer after helping Leicester to win the Premier League title and looks set to repeat the feat in his first year at Stamford Bridge.
Kante’s recent form has seen him tipped as a potential candidate for the PFA Player of the Year award but Conte is keen to ensure the 25-year-old does not rest on his laurels.
The Italian coach has now heaped praise on the former Caen man although he says there are a number of areas where he can still improve.
“We have spoken a lot about him and about his characteristics,” Conte told reporters today. “I think he’s a fantastic player, a very good player.
“For us he’s an important player, he’s able to cover a lot of ground and to win the ball, but I think that N’Golo is a young player and he can improve a lot.
“We are trying to work on the areas that he can improve on. But with the ball he is incredible and also he always has this smile in his face. It’s great.”
