Tiemoue Bakayoko discusses the injury woes that plagued the start of his Chelsea career:
“I couldn’t wait to play my first match. When you know you have been bought for €45m, and you arrive with an injury and you are not totally recovered, you have this sensation that you are no use because you cost a lot.
“You want to help your team. And then, in pre-season, we conceded a lot of goals. You also heard everywhere that Chelsea’s transfer business had not been a success.
“All that gives you the determination to get back on the pitch.”
Claude Makelele believes that N’Golo Kante will have to change his playing style when he gets a little older:
“He is a good player. It is difficult to find some who loves running for everything like him.
“He plays for his partners. He is unbelievable. He is also clever and very serious. Around him, he has good people to help him to be a great player.
“It might be difficult for him when he gets older. He can’t run like that for 90 minutes. I think he will one day need to change the way he plays.
“However, Chelsea signed him to play the way that he plays with his running. So that’s the problem.
“It is important for him to understand to conserve his energy. He is still young, when he is older, he will understand how to change the way that he plays.”
Shay Given believes that Chelsea target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be interested by a move to the club this summer
“I know Chelsea are interested and I think he will be tempted. If he moves he will be going to the champions.
“If a manager signs you for a new club then you’re definitely going to play so he’ll be thinking of all those things and sometimes he hasn’t gone enough game time.”
