Lucas Perez has hinted his Arsenal misery could be about to come to an end.
The Spain striker is desperate to leave the Gunners and return to former club Deportivo La Coruna after just one year in north London.
Perez was frustrated by his lack of opportunities last season following his £17 million move to the Emirates and was further angered this summer when club record signing Alexandre Lacazette was given his No.9 shirt ahead of the new campaign.
Revealing his frustrations in an interview on Monday, Perez said: “I want to leave to play and be happy.
“Last year I barely had any opportunities and when I had them I took advantage of them. And this season is clearly going to be more of the same. I want to fight to go to the national team.
“I want to play football, but for that I have to leave.
“And I think that the best place for me is at home, with Dépor. They [Arsenal] are not behaving well with me.
“The thing of taking the shirt number without telling me to give it to a companion, it seems to me the last straw.”
Reports suggest Deportivo have made a £9 million offer for the frontman and Perez has now stoked up speculation that a deal could be imminent with a post on social media.
The 28-year-old updated a picture of La Coruna, the Spanish city in north west Spain, accompanied by the caption Miña terra, which means ‘my land’ in English.
