Even though the transfer deadline closed for Premier League teams at 11pm last night, there could potentially be a major outgoing at Arsenal today.
According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, Barcelona could launch a late bid to sign the German international as the Spanish transfer window is open for one more day than their British counterparts.
Ernesto Valverde’s team have tried to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for the majority of the summer, yet it looks increasingly likely that he will not depart Merseyside.
Barcelona-based newspaper Sport claim that Liverpool will sell their star player, but only after next year’s World Cup has taken place.
So, with Coutinho set to remain with Liverpool, reports in Spain suggest that they could make a €60million move to sign Ozil.
Given the fact that Arsene Wenger could not bring in another player to replace Ozil, it would be a major surprise if the Frenchman sanctioned the move.
However, the German is out of contract at the end of the season and his valuation would only decrease by the time the window reopens open in January.
Just when Arsenal fans thought their transfer woes were over, it looks like it could be another interesting day at the club.
