The Argentinian striker has been linked with a move away from the Etihad after the emergence of Gabriel Jesus late last season, and a number of top clubs are said to be interested in his availability.
But it is the Gunners who have emerged at the most likely destination for Aguero, with Sky Bet offering odds of 7/1 for the striker to head to the Emirates – far better than second favourites Chelsea, who are stark outsiders at 18/1.
Barcelona are the most likely suitors from abroad following Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain, and the Catalan giants are listed at 20/1 to secure the former Atletico Madrid man’s signature.
Still, it is believed that Aguero would prefer to stay in Manchester and the bookies can see this happening, with 29-year-old 1/20 to remain where he is.
Aguero was on target today as City kicked off their league campaign with a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Brighton.
The Argentine linked well with Jesus and the pair could make a dangerous strike force if they can learn to work together in the same team.
