Arsenal’s new 2017/18 away kit has effectively been confirmed – though not as the club would have hoped.
The Gunners mistakenly played some video footage featuring their strip for the upcoming season – which has yet to be officially unveiled – with Theo Walcott modelling the new kit in the clip.
Footage of Walcott donning the new shirt featured during the half-time interval of Arsenal’s latest pre-season friendly as they went into the break 3-0 up on Western Sydney Wanderers thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny.
The new shirt confirms a number of leaked images, with the Gunners set to wear a sky blue colour for 2017/18, which has prompted bemusement from some fans.
Arsenal launched their new home kit ahead of their trip to Australia for the first leg of their pre-season tour and used their trip Down Under to launch their new neon pink third kit, which has been met with general praise from supporters.
The away strip will not feature a collar like the home shirt, with white detailing for the sponsors Fly Emirates and kit manufacturers Puma.
