Slaven Bilic says Marko Arnautovic has apologised following his red card at Southampton
“I had a chat. He’s sorry and he apologised, I don’t know, three or four times. He apologised in front of the whole team on the bus, in the dressing room, everywhere,” Bilic told the club website.
“It’s nice, but you can’t do that. According to him, he didn’t want to elbow [Stephens], but he probably wanted to push him a little bit. The problem is he [caught him], Arnautovic is big and it gave it an extra dimension.
“We can talk about this and that, but the point is you can’t do that. You can’t do those kind of things. It happened, I’m fuming about it, but no more, not him or anyone else.”
Danny Murphy believes West Ham need to sort out their discipline
“What I mean by a lack of discipline is not just getting players sent off, (Mark) Noble could have been sent off with that tackle (against Southampton) and Arnautovic let himself down,” Murphy said on The Debate.
“But I’m talking about silly things like (Jose) Fonte giving a penalty away grabbing someone around the neck in the box, five yards from the referee, you’ve got (Pablo) Zabaleta – the most experienced player on the pitch – going into someone’s back, lazy last minute after working so hard (to get back into the game with 10 men).
“It’s a difficult one, does Bilic treat them like men and give them respect and expect them to do the right thing or does he actually have to come down on them now and say ‘I can’t have that again’ because they should not have lost that game and now they’re in trouble.”
Adrian was excited to Cheltenham Town after making his Hammers debut against them
“It’s unbelievable that the time has passed so quick. Now I’m in my fifth season here, so it’s a totally different situation, of course,” Adrian said on the Hammers’ website.
“That was my first game in a West Ham shirt and a good result for us and I expect a good result again this time.
“I watched the highlights of that game this week and it was a very exciting night for me. I gave a penalty away, which is not the best thing a ‘keeper can do on his debut, but the result was that Ricky and Rav scored and we won.”
