Jurgen Klopp believes Arsenal will have an advantage over Liverpool due to Alexis Sanchez’s return
“Arsenal are an outstanding and strong side and they will have [Alexis] Sanchez back on the pitch for the first time this season,” Klopp said ahead of Sunday’s game.
“He gives that team another boost and that is of course an advantage to Arsenal.
“It’s always difficult and will stay difficult. It’s Arsenal. They have experience, they have speed and they have quality.”
Alan Smith feels his former side will lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
“He’s served his time at Arsenal and Wenger feels they’ve invested a lot of time and money in him that he should stay, but football doesn’t work like that,” Smith told talkSPORT.
“It would be a shame if he left the Emirates, because he’s got a lot of ability and he can play in a number of positions, so you wouldn’t want to lose him.”
Tony Pulis has revealed that Arsenal have yet to contact him about Jonny Evans
“There has been no contact from City for the last couple of days,” Pulis said in his pre-match press conference.
“The directors are dealing with that.
“Jonny is a West Brom player and we want this situation sorted as soon as possible.
“Arsenal were interested last year and made an offer last year. I don’t think this club has received anything from Arsenal [this year].”
Paul Merson believes Arsenal will have to buy a new defender if Liverpool beat them on Sunday
“If they go and get beat by Liverpool on Sunday, I think Arsenal will have to go out and buy. They need a defender,” Merson said on Sky Sports.
“Let’s be honest, you are not going to win the Premier League with Monreal playing in a back three, he’s not a centre-half.
“They’ve got [Hector] Bellerin playing on the left instead of on the right, that needs to be sorted out.
“This is Arsenal Football Club and they need to sort out their defence. If you haven’t got a good defence, you are not going to win the Premier League title.”
