Alexis Sanchez has sent the clearest message yet about where his future lies as Manchester City reportedly prepare a bid for the Chilean.
Arsenal have held firm in their insistence that they will not sell Alexis to a direct rival and expect him to honour the final year of his contract, although is seems increasingly likely that he wants to leave the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger confirmed on Saturday that Alexis has still not signed a new deal with the Gunners, and now the 28-year-old has responded by putting the pressure on Arsenal further with an interview in his native Chile.
According to CNN Sport producer Matias Grez, Alexis told reporters from Radio Sport Chile that he wants to play in the Champions League and has made a decision on his future, although he admits that it is up to the club to allow him to leave.
“I want to play in the Champions League. The decision isn’t down to me, I need to wait for Arsenal,” he said, during a visit to his home town of Tocopilla.
“I’ve made my decision, now I wait for Arsenal’s reply. The idea is to play & win the Champions League. I’ve dreamt about it since I was a kid.”
