Alex Sandro could be set to deal Chelsea a major transfer blow by signing a new contract with Juventus.
The Blues have made no secret that they are on the hunt for a full back in this summer window and many believed that the Brazilian was the man Antonio Conte had identified.
Rumours had circulated of big-money bids being made by Chelsea, but now it seems that any attempts to sign Sandro could prove fruitless.
According to Sky Sports Italia journalist Angelo Mangiante, the defender will extend his current contract with Juventus – and he’s set to pick up huge money if he does.
Mangiante says that Sandro could be set to earn €2.8 million-a-year in the deal, not to mention a possible €4 million in add-ons.
Juventus would be less likely to be willing to let the defender leave the club after the departure of Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan for a relatively cheap price.
Chelsea have already made additions to their defence this transfer window, with Antonio Rudiger joining from Roma.
