Arsenal fans have vented their fury at the decision to award Marouane Fellaini’s contentious goal during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Leicester City.
The Gunners were on the receiving end of a debatable offside call during last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Stoke City as Alexandre Lacazette’s drive past Jack Butland was adjudged to be offside, with the decision prompting plenty of debate.
Fellaini appeared to be offside as he turned home Jesse Lingard’s cross home past Kasper Schmeichel to seal victory for United at a similar time of the game to Lacazette’s disallowed goal.
Lacazette was deemed to be ahead of the last defender by a toe’s length but Fellaini seemed even further beyond his marker and the decision to allow the goal to stand sent some Gunners supporters into meltdown.
Fans flocked to social media to have their say on the goal, with many questioning the consistency of officials in the Premier League after the contrasting decisions.
